Ok, hopefully you know that zucchini can be a pretty prolific producer, if you give it the right conditions.  Some varieties can really take over a small garden with their sprawling habits.  But not Golden Zucchini!  We love that its a star in the prolific quantity department but that its a compact bush type, perfect for anyone with a limited amount of space in their gardens.  So if you love eating fresh zucchini but only have a grow bag or a small amount of space in your bed, you can still grow and enjoy it fresh this summer!

We find that this variety is tastiest when eaten at 10" or smaller.  In fact, frequent harvesting of small fruits actually encourages MORE fruit to grow!  And, this variety is an heirloom, which means its been around for awhile (since 1973 to be exact) and it's reliable.  It's basically a win for everyone!

We recommend allowing 12-24" spacing, especially if you’re planting multiple squashes in your garden. However, unless you're growing in a community garden or eat a TON of zucchini, we don't recommend growing more than one or two plants.  You will have a LOT of zucchini!!! ;)

  • Days to Harvest: 60
  • Companion Plants: Basil, Beans, Borage, Corn, Marigold, Nasturtiums, Thyme
  • Heirloom
  • Plant Spacing: 12 - 24"
