About

Hey! I'm Jess.
PNW Garden Girls was started back in February 2022 by myself and my friend Kristen. While Kristen has moved down a different path, I realized I wasn't quite ready to give up plants or this community.
What you can expect from PNW Garden Girls:
-
Focus on sustainable growing methods, 100% peat-free & coco-free grown plants
- Focus on unique, beautiful + delicious varieties
- Varieties that are locally adapted to our climate
I grew up with a love and appreciation of nature, which eventually took me down the path of growing my own food & medicine. In 2022, I completed the OSU Master Gardener program and really enjoy volunteering in the community, spending time talking to people about plants and growing sustainably!
You can find me gardening in my yard (working on that backyard habitat certification!), talking to my neighbors about gardening, or just hanging out back with my spoiled pet chickens.
Fave plants to grow:
- Hot Peppers
- Basil
- Alliums (Onion/Garlic fam)
I'm kind of an anti-canner but I flash freeze like a boss. Flash freezing allows me to avoid the end of season panic when i have 50+ lbs of hot peppers and not enough time!
I use the majority of my harvest to make seasoning, but definitely enjoy fresh too!
Herb butter, hot sauce, fun drink infusions + topicals are also my jam.
