From the breeder that created the Pink Berkeley Tie Dye tomato, Wild Boar Farms has a gorgeous new variety for 2026 - the Solar Vortex! This STUNNING semi-heart shaped tomato has anthocyanin shoulders in deep violet/black, cascading into emerald green flames that merge with molten red and gold streaks. She’s not just pretty, she also produces like a boss and tastes delish.
Each 4-8 ounce fruit is a vertical bonfire of color on glossy, crack resistant skin. Very meaty interior, absolutely delicious with a medium acid and high sweetness. Excellent post-harvest storage.
Tomatoes love full sun and well-draining, fertile soil. Plant your tomato DEEP, like all the way up to the first set of bottom leaves - this encourages a stronger root system. Amend with compost or worm castings and mulch at the base to ensure good soil moisture for the growing season. Staking is highly recommended - Square cages, bamboo poles or the Florida weave are all great options.
