Spoiler alert, this is my absolute favorite tomato to grow! It checks all the boxes - unique, beautiful, delicious and easy to grow! My favorite ways to enjoy Pink Berk: sliced in a burger, BLT or raw sliced with a sprinkle of flaky salt, bloody mary mix, tomato soup.
Fruits are 8-12 oz and dark pink with metallic green striping. Flavor is amazing!! Fruity and rich, with a meaty texture. Considered relatively early for such a large, flavorful tomato. This variety was bred by Brad Gates of Wild Boar Farms.
Favorite plant color combos:
- Pink Berkeley Tie-Dye + Cardinal Basil
- Pink Berkeley Tie-Dye + Joy's Midnight Chard
- Pink Berkeley Tie-Dye + Sugar Rush Stripey Pepper
Tomatoes love full sun and well-draining, fertile soil. Plant your tomatoes deeply to encourage a stronger root system and healthier plant. Staking is a must for indeterminate tomato varieties. Square cages, bamboo poles or the florida weave are all great options. Mulch at the base of plants to help retain soil moisture throughout the growing season. Container friendly!
