Thyme, English
Thyme, English
One of the most versatile herbs used in cooking, adds a savory note to soups, grilled meats and vegetables. A staple herb of chefs. Also very useful as a medicinal herb, great for the respiratory system. Since it's perennial, we love going out to the garden in the winter and snipping off a few sprigs. There's just something to be said for having fresh herbs from the garden in the middle of winter (or any time of the year)!
Plants grow 6-12" tall with a slow, sprawling habit. Originally from the Mediterranean area, this herb is drought-friendly. Great for containers. Little lilac flowers bloom mid-summer; cut back foliage halfway when the blossoms fade to keep the plants looking fresh.
- Days to Harvest: 75 - 90
- Companion Plants: Chives, Kale, Peppers, Strawberry, Swiss Chard
- Heirloom, Perennial
- Plant Spacing: 6 - 12"
