Don't let the sweet name fool you, the Sugar Rush Peach packs a punch!  Yellow fruit grow to about 3" long and ripen to a pretty peachy orange color.  Definitely a hot pepper with a little bit of a tropical undertone.  Sugar Rush Peach has quite the following and we can totally see why.  We made a lot of hot sauce with it the last 2 years and it turned out spectacular!  These would also be delicious in a mango or papaya salsa.  YUM!

This variety ripens early for a hot pepper and produces well even in cool growing conditions.  This modern pepper was bred by Chris Fowler in Wales, UK.  However, this species (capsicum baccatum) is confirmed to have origins in either Peru or Bolivia and is commonly referred to as an Aji pepper.

Plants grow 36-48" in height.  As long as they get full sun and well draining, fertile soil, they will be happy and give you lots of fruit in return.  Great for containers!

SHU (Scoville Heat Units): 50,000 - 100,000.  Think between a Jalapeno and Habanero on the hotness scale, very comparable to a strong Serrano pepper.

  • Days to Maturity: 60 (yellow), 80 (peach)
  • Companion Plants: Basil, Borage, Cilantro, Marigold, Tomatoes, Zinnias
  • Open-Pollinated (OP)
  • Plant Spacing: 12 - 18"
