Super Hot Pepper, Primotalii
Super Hot Pepper, Primotalii
The Primotalii is REAL HOT folks. Like real hot. This is the red Primotalii - the original version of the Primotalii, which is a cross between the 7 Pot Primo and the Yellow Fatalii, developed by Chris Saunders.
The Red Primotalii has a super intense heat level and complex flavor profile (sweet, slightly floral) that makes it appealing for spicy salsas and hot sauces. Although it hasn't officially been tested on the Scoville Scale, its believed to easily be over 1,000,000 SHU.
Compared to the other superhots we're growing this year, the Primotalii has grown exceptionally well from seed! The plants are very healthy and have an extensive root system.
Because superhots have a longer growing season, not only do we highly recommend mulching, but it may be helpful to also use a season extender when you first transplant in the garden to provide the warmth that our early summers generally lack. Mulching at the base of your plants will ensure good soil moisture and retain warmth below the surface all season.
Peppers require full sun and thrive in well-draining, fertile soil. Plants reach 2-3 feet in height, producing red pepper pods in masses! Note that production and heat levels vary based on how the plant is grown.
