The Moruga Scorpion Pepper is native to the villages of Moruga, Trinidad and Tobago.  It may be referred to as the Scorpion pepper, Moruga Scorpion, or Trinidad Moruga Scorpion.

If you love fiery hot sauces, you will love the Moruga Scorpion pepper!  The first bite seems totally doable, maybe even a sweetness to it...but the heat builds exponentially the longer its on your palate.  Excellent in hot sauces!!

Because superhots have a longer growing season, not only do we highly recommend mulching, but it may be helpful to also use a season extender when you first transplant in the garden to provide the warmth that our early summers generally lack. Mulching at the base of your plants will ensure good soil moisture and retain warmth below the surface all season.

Moruga Scorpion peppers require full sun and thrive in well-draining, fertile soil. Plants reach 2-3 feet in height, producing red pepper pods in masses!  Note that production and heat levels vary based on how the plant is grown.

Scoville Heat Units rating of 1,580,198 - 2,009,231 SHU - so its at least 230x hotter than a jalapeno.
