The name 'Einfache Schnitt' translates from German to English as 'easy cut'. So you know one reason we love this German heirloom variety. A couple more reasons we love it:
- sweet flavor + crisp texture
- winter hardy
- slow to bolt
- makes an amazing Chimichurri!!!
If you're familiar with Italian flat parsley, this is very similar but grows a tad shorter, thus making it more bolt resistant (woot!). It's very hardy in our climate, and the dark green, flat leaves grow upright and top out around 12 - 24" in height and width. In addition to the sweet flavor & crisp texture, this variety also has a built-in rot resistance.
For cut-and-come-again harvest all season long, remove no more than 25% of the plant at a time. Leaves harvested in the cooler parts of the day will have longer shelf life. Let some go to flower to attract beneficial insects. Great for containers!
- Days to Harvest: 75 - 85
- Companion Plants: Basil, Chard, Kale, Peas, Peppers, Tomatoes
- Heirloom, Biennial
- Plant Spacing: 8 - 12"
