Lettuce, Drunken Woman Frizzy Headed 6pk
Lettuce, Drunken Woman Frizzy Headed 6pk
Who can resist her? She’s a feisty, emerald-green butterhead with red ruffled tips! Of course she’s worth growing for her name alone, but her voluptuous size, her stubborn refusal to bolt, and her sweet, crisp leaves will leave you asking for more. This is Kristen's favorite lettuce to grow!
Drunken Woman is one of the last lettuces to bolt in summer, and she'll last in cool autumn weather, too. Gorgeous in the garden and on the plate, the leaves are crisp and flavorful. Plants reach about 8" in size at full maturity. You can pick the leaves individually as needed or wait and harvest full heads.
Lettuce thrives in partial & full sun but appreciates some shade relief in the heat of summer - we like to plant taller companions next to our greens for this reason alone. Amend soil with a scoop of compost at planting and mulch around the base to help retain soil moisture throughout the season.
- Days to Maturity: 55
- Companion Plants: Basil, Chard, Cucumber, Eggplant, Tomatoes, Zucchini
- Open-Pollinated (OP)
- Plant Spacing: 6 - 8"
