Rainbow Chard is the best of both worlds - it's highly ornamental but also a nutritional powerhouse! This variety has ribs in shades of green, red, pink, yellow, orange and striped.
We both grow this chard in our own gardens and it grows year round (exception is when the weather freezes like February of 2021) in our climate. This particular strain is resistant to leaf miners, has wide petioles (aka stalks) and an upright growth habit, reaching between 12 - 24" in height and width.
Rainbow Chard is a hardy crop that can be an early and/or late season star in your garden. It prefers full sun but will tolerate partial shade. Mulch at the base of the plant to shade out weeds and ensure good soil moisture. Container friendly!
- Days to Harvest: 30 (baby), 60 (full)
- Companion Plants: Basil, Calendula, Chamomile, Onions, Zinnias
- Open-Pollinated (OP)
- Plant Spacing: 8 - 12"
