Ever wonder why it's called a Ghost Pepper (Bhut Jolokia)?  Well, the "bhut" means "ghost", given from the Bhutias people, probably because the heat sneaks up on you like a ghost.

The Yellow Ghost Pepper consistently churns out TONS of peppers every year in our climate, compared to other ghost variations.  Plus, have you seen the yellow ghost pepper planted amongst purple basil?  Beauties.
My favorite ghost pepper uses are hot sauce and seasoning!

Fave plant color combos:

  • Yellow Ghost + Cardinal Basil
  • Yellow Ghost + Raspberry Burst Cherry Tomato
  • Yellow Ghost + Purple Basil

Ghost pepper plants thrive in fertile, well-draining soil.  Full sun is a MUST.  Plants grow about 3' tall.  Superhot peppers may need extra protection before the peak of summer and again at the end, depending on how Mother Nature rolls.
Mulching at the base of your plants will retain warmth below the surface as well as ensure good soil moisture.  ~1,000,000 Scoville Heat Units.

  • Days to Maturity: 105
  • Companion Plants: Basil, Beans, Calendula, Cilantro, Parsley, Tomatoes
  • Open-Pollinated (OP), Capsicum Chinese
  • Plant Spacing: 12 - 24"
