Czech Black Jalapeno has been a personal favorite to grow since 2017. One of the earliest peppers to ripen (like weeks before other peppers) and super prolific!! Matures from black to a dark garnet red, glossy and gorgeous. Juicy, medium thickness and absolutely perfect for pickling. Eat it black or red!
Slightly conical shaped fruits are 2.5-3" long and glossy. Plants average 2-3' in height but in favorable conditions, can grow up to 3.5' tall! Staking is recommended.
Fave color combos:
- Czech Black Jalapeno + Cardinal Basil
- Czech Black Jalapeno + Showstopper Tomato
- Czech Black Jalapeno + Texas Hummingbird Sage
Pepper plants thrive in full sun and well-draining, fertile soil. Mulch at the base of the plant to retain soil moisture throughout the summer and suppress weeds. Great for containers! SHU (Scoville Heat Units): 5,000.
- Days to Harvest: 65 days to black, 80 days to garnet red
- Companion Plants: Basil, Cilantro, Marigolds, Tomatoes, Tulsi
- Open-Pollinated (OP)
- Plant Spacing: 12 - 24"
