Parsley, Einfache Schnitt 3
Parsley, Einfache Schnitt 3
This is a German variety, the name 'Einfache Schnitt' translates from German to English as 'easy cut'. This flat-leaf parsley was new to our line-up last year and we loved it so much, for the flavor, ease of growth and as they say, easy to cut, that we definitely had to bring it back for this year too!
If you're familiar with Italian flat parsley, this is very similar but grows a tad shorter, thus making it more bolt resistant (woot!). It's very hardy in our climate, and the dark green, flat leaves grow upright and top out around 12 - 24" in height and width. In addition to the sweet flavor & crisp texture, this variety also has a built-in rot resistance. Makes an amazing chimichurri!!
For cut-and-come-again harvest all season long, remove no more than 25% of the plant at a time. Leaves harvested in the cooler parts of the day will have longer shelf life.
Let some go to flower to attract beneficial insects. Great for containers!
- Days to Harvest: 72
- Companion Plants: Basil, Carrots, Chives, Marigolds, Peas, Peppers, Tomatoes
- Heirloom, Biennial
- Plant Spacing: 8 - 12"
