One of the most versatile herbs used in cooking, thyme adds a savory note to soups, grilled meats and vegetables.  A staple herb of chefs.  Also very useful as a medicinal herb, it's great for the respiratory system.  Since it's perennial, we just love going out to the garden in the winter and snipping off a few sprigs at a time.  There's just something to be said for having fresh herbs from the garden in the middle of winter (or any time of the year)!

Plants grow 6-12" tall with a slow, sprawling habit.  Originally from the Mediterranean area, this herb is drought-friendly once established.  Great for containers.  Little lilac flowers bloom mid-summer; cut back foliage halfway when the blossoms fade to keep the plants looking fresh.

  • Days to Maturity: 75 - 90
  • Companion Plants: Chamomile, Lavender, Rosemary, Sage, Strawberry,
  • Heirloom, Perennial, Open-Pollinated (OP)
  • Plant Spacing: 6 - 8"
