Annnnd we're back with another Marketmore superstar.  Sweet Marketmore is an improved strain of the classic "76".  Bill Reynolds of Eel River Produce brought this strain to Oregon and he found that "Sweet" was more vigorous, tolerant to adverse conditions and productive than other strains, without compromising the straight, high quality cukes that have made “Marketmore’ a household name among gardeners. Good disease resistance.

This very popular slicing cucumber is easy to grow and provides a steady, prolific, full season of harvesting.  The fruits are dark green in color and best when they are 7-9" long.  They have a sweet, mild flavor and are one of the varieties in our climate that are resistant to powdery mildew, cucumber mosaic virus and downy mildew.

Sweet Marketmore does well in cool climates but is susceptible to frost so make sure you plant outside after our last frost (generally the beginning of May is the earliest we would plant).  Trellising your cucumbers provides better air circulation & helps prevent pest damage and keeps the powdery mildew at bay.
