Basil, Italian Mountain Sweet
Basil, Italian Mountain Sweet
This strain of Italian sweet basil is more cool weather tolerant than other basil. This basil originates from the mountains of Northern Italy.
We've found this variety to be an awesome producer in our home gardens. The sweet, rich flavor is similar to other Genovese types. Gold stars for this one, if you ask us!!
The plants grow to about 18" tall, and provide several harvests throughout the summer. Slow to bolt. Prefers well-drained soil, even moisture (drip irrigation is great!) and full sun.
Note: we pinch all of our basil seedlings when they are about 6" tall. Pinching or topping young basil plants encourages side shoots, making them bushier. Bushy and beautiful.
- Days to Harvest: 75 - 85
- Companion Plants: Beans, Cilantro, Cucumbers, Peppers, Tomatoes, Zucchini
- Heirloom, Open-Pollinated (OP)
- Plant Spacing: 6 - 12"
